The 5950X is a workstation CPU meant for production workloads, and in this testing, we've tested it mostly stock (with overclocking benchmarks, too) versus the 3950X, 3970X, 10900K, 10980XE, and about a dozen other CPUs. In addition to workstation applications, like testing which CPU is the best for video editing and transcoding, 3D art rendering, Photoshop, and more, we also tested the 5950X for gaming performance. AMD's Zen 3 CPUs have higher IPC and higher frequency, which might mean kicking Intel off the "best for gaming" throne upon which it has sat for over a decade now.
