1940's Guide to Glamour, Dress and Posture: Color Restored

@glamourdazeAbout
Glamourdaze.com brings the past back to life. I take early fragments of silent 16fps footage and restore them to life by a combination of manual frame by frame colorization as well as the use of deep exemplar-based video colorization techniques. The footage is upscaled and the frames interpolated to a higher frame rate ( in most cases 60 frames per second.) Finally I produce a soundtrack which helps build a new immersive experience for the viewer. The intent is to create a time travel experience. Glamourdaze is also a vintage fashion blog with color restored vintage, plus modern retro beauty tutorials. All films are licensed, procured by private agreement from relevant copyright holders, or deemed to be public domain. Where relevant, links are provided to permission granters and to public domain / creative commons archive sources.

Video Description
A fully color restored beauty tutorial film from 1946. Ponds beauty consultant Mary Stuyvesant dishes out some 1940's glamour tips to some of her students. In this film, she advises on how to be glamorous with some simple steps. A feminine posture. How to be well dressed. Clean your collars regularly. Never go out without that final dress check up. See that the hemline is even, the slip where it belongs, the stocking seams straight. A quick final hair brush across the shoulders to see that there are no loose hairs or dandruff, and you're ready to face the outside world. You can walk out the door exuding glamour, poise and charm. Mary appeared regularly on American TV in the 1940's and is the earliest known television beauty guru known to us.This is the precursor to our popular Vintage 1940's Makeup Tutorial film also presented by Miss Stuyvesant.The links are in the film and at the end. As well as this color film, which was seen in schools across America, Miss Stuyvesant presented possibly the first beauty programs on American television for women in the early 1940's on WRGB. Aimed at the younger 1940's woman, her lessons included makeup appropriate for teenagers and tips on how to apply lipstick, face makeup and eye makeup. Also demonstrations for the correct hairstyles and makeup for face shape.Correct posture and carefully applied make-up to highlight a girls best features.
