About

"Nowadays there is always archival material taken of any show on Broadway, but for so many years, nothing was recorded on film or tape (except bootlegged footage that no one will own up to). The tiny snippets of shows that were captured on television in that era are like gold dust to people who are interested. - Julie Andrews; Home, A Memoir of My Early Years" ------ FAN ACCOUNT, dependent on ARCHIVE CHUMS, i.e. fans sharing from their collections. Session 3 with Dr Feldman (Duet for One) - Julie Andrews, Max von Sydow Thank YOU, Archive Chum! --------------- AVAILABLE on Bluray Initial release: December 25, 1986 Director: Andrei Konchalovsky Running time: 1h 47m Session 1: https://youtu.be/g7AciyAzyB4 Session 2: https://youtu.be/BiKjDo5m9BE Session 3: https://youtu.be/OCA-0BTcf94 Session 4: https://youtu.be/bbEE9ZW6jzU Synopsis: Stephanie Anderson, a world-famous violinist, becomes unable to play because of multiple sclerosis. A psychiatrist she sees is unable to help with her rage and frustration. Her star pupil, realizing he will learn nothing more, leaves her. Her husband departs with his young secretary, and her accompanist dies. Her fierce desire to be alone in her pain alienates everybody except her faithful maid. She gives all her musical effects to a totter (an itinerant scrap merchant), who she asks into her bed as well. Watching a videotape of a concert triumph, she takes an overdose but the maid breaks in to try and save her. In an epilogue, which may be a dream, the psychiatrist has become a friend while her ex-husband and former pupil come back to see her, as does the ghost of her accompanist.
