Video Description

Howard County officials are holding an open house Wednesday night for federal government employees in jeopardy of losing their jobs. The Howard County Workforce Development Center, tucked away inside a complex off Columbia Gateway Drive, will soon become a center of assistance for federal workers who have been fired, terminated or are afraid they're about to be. Officials estimate that 50,000 federal workers live in Howard County, and more than 400 of them participated in a forum last week with Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. Ball said some of the workers expressed anxiety, some were afraid they had been fired or furloughed, and some feared that such an action was imminent.
