I managed to get my M4 MacBook Air to run over 30% faster than it does out of the box. No software involved. I added thermal pads inside the case to the back of the motherboard which moves heat from the motherboard to the bottom case of the laptop - I then blew a pretty large fan on it, and there was a SIGNIFICANT increase in CPU performance.
