This beautiful old gothic house was built in the mid to late 1800’s. Possibly antebellum. The house was built for an agrarian family who owned many acres of land in the surrounding area, they mostly sold timber and grew cotton until the boll weevil came. The sons of the original builders also served during the civil war. This grand old place would remain in the same family for its entire life until the final owner passed away and the house was finally put on the market. I believe the house is still up for sale if anyone is interested in purchasing this old place and restoring it. Such a beautiful old place. Loved the ornate woodwork along the front porch as well as the gabled dormer windows up top. All 4 original rooms included a fireplace and mantle and shiplap walls adorning them.
