Video Description

We had to take a deep dive into this battlefield myth surrounding the iconic M1 Carbine, used by American soldiers during World War II, Korean War and even in Vietnam. In this video, we tackle one of the most debated claims: Did soldiers ditch their M1 Carbines because they were ineffective against enemies wearing thick clothing? We'll use similar clothing to the era as well as an authentic WW2 M1 Carbine and Remington ball ammo (also from WW2). We use ballistics gel and a slow motion camera to capture the impacts. Update: 04/10/2025- The WW2 Surplus ammo was imported by Royal Tiger Imports from Ethiopia, where the storage conditions were less than ideal. The surplus ammo performed poorly during an accuracy test conducted later.
