The Color Purple is directed by Steven Spielberg (Jaws, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler's List). The film stars Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost, Sister Act, The View) as Celie, Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon, The Royal Tenenbaums, Dreamgirls) as Mister, and Oprah Winfrey (Beloved, Selma, The Butler) as Sofia.
