At the same time, British and European counter-intelligence agencies worked tirelessly to identify Soviet agents and handlers working within Western Europe, who sought out details on the Concorde project under what was known as Operation Brunhilde, and questions linger as to how much of the stolen information by communist operatives would actually come to inform the finalised Tupolev Tu-144, which would see a hasty maiden flight ahead of the Concorde during 1968.
