Video Description
As World War II neared its end in 1945, the conflict returned with brutal force to its point of origin—Germany. Allied bombing raids left cities in ruins, while the Luftwaffe struggled under the weight of overwhelming Allied air superiority. In a last-ditch effort to defend the homeland, German engineer Erich Bachem designed the Bachem Ba 349 Natter (“Viper”), a radical, rocket-powered interceptor capable of vertical takeoff. Intended to strike Allied bombers with speed and precision, the Natter represented a leap in aerospace innovation—pioneering technologies still relevant today. In March 1945, the world’s first vertical launch of a manned rocket aircraft occurred in Stetten am kalten Markt, but the test ended in tragedy with the death of pilot Lothar Sieber. This documentary explores the desperate final days of Nazi aviation and the futuristic vision behind one of history’s most daring experimental aircraft. #worldwar2 #rocket #documentary Watch "The Battle for Caen 1944: Breaking Hitler’s Line": https://youtu.be/R2eXL7Y6mmQ ---- On Get.history, a free documentary streaming channel, you can explore historical mysteries, scientific breakthroughs, biographical content and untold stories from around the world.
