Video Description

This three-part film explains the influential role played by U.S. Secretaries of State since the last war. Through this key position, it highlights the major crises each one faced in foreign policy during (and even after) their term in office. An investigation into the influence the United States had on the international stage during the second half of the 20th century. The film particularly emphasizes the overwhelming power of the NSC (U.S. National Security Council) and, thus, the influence of U.S. Secretaries of State during the major post-war crises. Interviews are aired where each of them speaks freely about their personal duties as well as the performances of their predecessors or successors. A revealing documentary filled with anecdotes and surprising revelations.
