This AI model “thinks” like a human brain 🧠 #trendingshorts #ai #research #science #technology
Description
🧠 Tokyo-based startup Sakana AI has unveiled Continuous Thought Machines (CTM), a revolutionary AI architecture created by former Google scientists. Unlike traditional Transformer models that process inputs simultaneously, CTM allows each artificial neuron to operate on its own timeline with memory of previous states, mimicking how biological brains process information. This enables the model to adjust its reasoning depth based on task complexity, spending more computational "ticks" on difficult problems. While not yet optimized for commercial use, CTM has shown promising results across various tasks, including competitive performance on ImageNet benchmarks. The open-sourced implementation enables researchers to explore this biologically-inspired approach to AI. The research is available on the sakana.ai website.
