London-based robotics company Humanoid has launched the HMND 01 Alpha, claiming it's the fastest-developed humanoid robot in history at just seven months from concept to prototype. The 220-centimeter (7-foot) wheeled robot can travel at 7.2 km/h and lift 15 kilograms with both arms, featuring 29 active degrees of freedom and swappable end-effectors for different tasks. The company has already completed two commercial proofs of concept and positions HMND 01 as the only industrial humanoid on track for commercial deployment within 12 months. Using proprietary 360-degree simulation training combined with real-world data, Humanoid achieved twice the development speed at half the cost of traditional methods. The robot targets warehouse, logistics, and retail applications.
