Trump cuts tariffs on Chinese imports after 'amazing' meeting Xi in South Korea

President Donald Trump “had an amazing meeting” with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea on Thursday, saying the two leaders came to “an outstanding group of decisions.” Trump said that he will cut tariffs on Chinese imports after discussing fentanyl enforcement, farm trade, and more with Xi. Tariffs on Chinese imports will be dropped from 20% to 10%. The meeting was Trump’s final stop in his Asia trip, where he traveled to Malaysia and Japan in addition to South Korea. "It’s an honor to be with a friend of mine," Trump said of the Chinese president, saying that while they have more to discuss, "I think we’ve already agreed to a lot of things." The Chinese president said that it felt “very warm” to meet with Trump again, saying that China and the U.S. “can still find ways to thrive side by side.” Trump said that Xi agreed to buy U.S. soybeans as well as other farm goods, with Xi also agreeing to help block fentanyl from being brought into the United States.
