Join me on this set of empties from Manchester to Victoria via Wakefield and Castlefield (“Wakey and Cass”). It closely follows a new job for TransPennine Express and has been widely requested. Instead of taking the usual route via Dewsbury and Leeds, we skirt to the south and emerge via the rolling fields of Church Fenton, right at the southern tip of the Vale of York. We also catch up on the TRU (Transpennine Route Upgrade).
