This GPU originally released in China in 2023, thus the naming convention GRE which stands for Golden Rabbit Edition. As for where the 7900GRE lines up in AMD Radeon's product stack, the 7900GRE slots in between the RX 7800XT and the RX 7900XT. Like all graphics cards out there there's about a million different videos where people have bench marked this card in “flat games”, but what about VR? Sure you can infer VR performance to a degree by watching flat game reviews, but until you actually run VR games with a particular GPU you never really know for sure. In this video I test the 7900GRE in 13 different VR games, namely Half Life Alyx, Beat Saber, Contrators, Breachers, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, Red Matter 2, Pavlov, Lone Echo 2, Ghosts of Tabor, Into the Radius, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Blade & Sorcery and Microsoft Flight Simulator. My hope is these benchmarks will this will give you an idea of what kind of VR performance the 7900GRE is capable of and how well it might be able to run your favorite PC VR games.
