As a visitor, the iconic golden sandstone of East Cliff, famed as "Broadchurch" country, is a must-see. The sheer scale and unique stratifications are a photographer's dream, especially when the sun casts long shadows in the late afternoon. Beyond the geological marvels, the harbour itself is a hive of activity. Fishing boats bob alongside pleasure craft, and you can easily while away an hour or two just watching the world go by, perhaps with a delicious portion of fish and chips from one of the many kiosks. We enjoyed Browse the local craft shops, picking up a unique souvenir, and then stopping for a cream tea, complete with proper Dorset clotted cream. The relatively flat promenade makes for easy strolling, and it’s a great spot to enjoy an ice cream while taking in the fresh sea air. For those seeking a bit more adventure, the South West Coast Path beckons in both directions. Heading east, you can ascend the cliffs for breathtaking panoramic views of the Jurassic Coastline stretching towards Lyme Regis. Even a short walk rewards you with incredible vistas.
