Modern nuclear weapons are among the most devastating tools ever created. Today, nine countries possess nuclear weapons. If Iran were to acquire one, a country widely considered by many as the world's most dangerous regime, it would change our world forever, as nuclear proliferation in the region would likely spiral out of control. If Iran were to develop nuclear weapons and use them against Israel, the consequences would be catastrophic. That’s why Israel launched Operation Rising Lion to stop the development of nuclear arms in Iran. Shortly after, the United States, under President Donald Trump, authorized Operation Midnight Hammer, where seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers penetrated Iranian airspace to strike nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The operation was considered by many a major success, though others argued it may have only delayed Iran’s nuclear ambitions by a matter of weeks. Following the strikes, Israel and Iran briefly agreed to a ceasefire. However, almost as soon as it was declared, both sides accused each other of breaking it.
