The feature prevents a class of man-in-the-middle attacks, where an unfriendly station intercepts traffic for other stations by poisoning the ARP caches of its unsuspecting neighbors. The miscreant sends ARP requests or responses mapping another station’s IP address to its own MAC address. DAI relies on DHCP snooping. DHCP snooping listens to DHCP message exchanges and builds a bindings database of valid tuples (MAC address, IP address, VLAN interface). When DAI is enabled, the switch drops the ARP packet if the sender MAC address and sender IP address do not match an entry in the DHCP snooping bindings database. However, it can be overcome through static mappings. Static mappings are useful when hosts configure static IP addresses, DHCP snooping cannot be run, or other switches in the network do not run dynamic ARP inspection. Static mapping associates an IP address to a MAC address on a VLAN. ================================= Some Useful FREE Courses ▶: ✅ 20+ Hours CCNA Full Course for Beginners: https://youtu.be/UMhkDN9p1bU ✅ 03+ Hours Firewall/Network Security Full Course for Beginners: https://youtu.be/NGxjv93jhjk ✅ 10+ Hours AWS Full Course for Beginners: https://youtu.be/91JZG07lNY0 ✅ 04+ Hours IP Addressing Full Course for Beginners: https://youtu.be/EJaoYxAJWUA ✅ 09+ Hours Advanced OSPF/EIGRP/BGP Tutorial: https://youtu.be/eT10x2JPoeg ✅ 03+ Hours IPv6 Addressing Basics Full Course with Lab: https://youtu.be/zEjwGXiKoAE ================================= ✅ Whatsapp Chat: https://wa.me/918750004411 📩 Email: [email protected] 📞 Helpline: +91-8750004411 🟢Telegram Channel: https://t.me/s/networkingtraining 🔵 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/imeditaindia 🟣 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imeditaindia/ ⚫ Linkedin: https://in.linkedin.com/company/imedita-learning-solutions ⏯ Online Video Courses: https://www.trainonic.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------ This Video is related to the following topics: What is Dynamic ARP inspection (DAI) Cisco Dynamic ARP Inspection How Dynamic ARP Inspection works dynamic arp inspection explained dynamic arp inspection packet tracer dynamic arp inspection command dynamic arp inspection configuration ccnp Dynamic ARP inspection ccie Dynamic ARP inspection concept network security
