In this video, I take a solo trip into the Ochoco National Forest for a little peace and quiet after a long stretch of travel. With the holidays coming up and some time to myself, I settle into a quiet patch of forest with Ben for an overnight camp. As always, I take some time to do one of my favorite camp chores—cutting firewood. There's something meditative about splitting wood, especially in the cold. It gets your body moving, keeps you warm, and sets you up for a cozy fire later in the evening. I talk through my camp setup, rebuild an old fire pit, gather and stack wood, and prep a solid steak-and-avocado dinner by the fire.
