There comes a moment in every person's life when you realize the studio logos you grew up worshipping were never the magic, the people behind them were. BioWare wasn’t just a name stamped on a box; it was a gathering of storytellers, dreamers, dedicated to conveying emotions and narrative within games. Mass Effect accomplished so much back in 2007, and the legendary edition is no exception, still casting shadows on modern RPGs. This retrospective isn’t about a brand. It’s about the people who built an awesome universe, and how they did it. Today, we'll be going through the whole main story of Mass Effect, and some side content, to understand what BioWare did right, and stuff that they got wrong, plus some history on the side.
