In Denver, wealthy white Americans pay $500 to attend dinner parties where they are told they are unknowingly racist. In New York City, a special commission tracks "micro-aggressions" experienced by minority citizens; for example, holding the door for a woman may be deemed a micro-aggression. Opponents of this ideology are labeled racist and often "canceled," facing social shaming online. When UCLA economics professor Gordon Klein refused to automatically raise the grades of black students after George Floyd's death—believing it would unfairly lower academic standards—he received death threats, now lives under FBI protection, and has been suspended. However, some believe the woke movement has gone too far.
