About

I prototype and fully fabricate machines and use them on the farm for sawmilling, timber hauling, mowing, excavating, stone crushing etc. I have built a bandsaw mill, chainsaw mill, swingblade sawmill, 8x2 tracked amphibious vehicle, 4x4 utility terrain vehicle (UTV), 4x4 timber trailer with hydraulic crane, front mounted ATV mower, snow plows, ATV tipping trailer, CNC plasma table etc. I like welding with MIG/MAG, TIG, I do light machining, turning in the lathe and steel milling. My favourite tool is angle grinder. Subscribe if you'd like to see ongoing and future projects. Cheers!

Video Description

Building a 6x6 mini-forwarder out of my homemade 4x4 timber trailer with hydraulic crane. In this video I'm building the heating duct around the muffler that directs heat into the cab and fabricating oddly shaped hydraulic tank to max out the hydraulic oil volume under the hood. Why build a forwarder? As a forest owner I spend a lot of time maintaining the forest by hand (bush cutter, chainsaw etc). Using this forwarder also as a harvester in the future will reduce the work load tremendously. Not to mention maneuvering between the trees will get much easier with a purpose built vehicle. I still use my homemade 4x4 UTV but a combination of UTV and the timber trailer is a bit bulky and awkward in the tight corners and while reversing into tight spots. So there you go - a mini forwarder build.
