香港人鄧龍威，2000年到菲律賓旅遊時，被當地警方指控販毒而被捕。他在菲律賓監獄中度過了超過24年，期間曾被迫睡在潮濕的廁所門口，生活環境惡劣。經過11年的拘留和審訊，最終被判處40年監禁。儘管他一直堅稱自己無罪，但菲律賓法院仍然無視案件中的重大疑點，維持有罪判決。他的遭遇引起香港社會關注，被視為「冤獄」案例。
