Amit Ades and her husband, Tomer, along with their three children under the age of 7, spent 35 hours in a safe room in their home on Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the Hamas attacks that killed 50 residents of their small community. The USC Shoah Foundation is recording testimonies of survivors of the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel, a brutal massacre in which Hamas terrorists murdered 1,400 people, took 250 hostages, and injured thousands. Interviews are being recorded and distributed in partnership with media and organizational partners in Israel. The testimonies are part of the USC Shoah Foundation’s Countering Antisemitism Through Testimony Collection, which documents incidents of antisemitism after 1945. The testimonies will be indexed and preserved in the Visual History Archive alongside the testimonies of 56,000 survivors and witnesses of the Holocaust and other genocides.
