Watch all episodes here: https://bit.ly/kids_on_the_silk_road Lochin, 12, from Uzbekistan wants to lift the legacy from his grandfather – a famous strongman and the first Uzbek to lift a car. For now, however, Lochin must play the role of the clown in the family’s circus troupe, because the old clown retired. A job he detests because it earned him the nickname ”little clown” among other boys. Lochin envisions a daring stunt in which his arm will be run over by a car, hoping it will convince his father and uncle that he should be the troupe’s Strongman. While neither of them believes that a boy can accomplish such a dangerous stunt, Lochin starts training – determined to prove them wrong and escape the role of the clown. The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes that were central to cultural interaction connecting the East and West. It created curiosity among cultures, for example with tea and silk from China suddenly sold in Venice. The trading may be a thing of the past, but the culture is still there… We chose the Silk Road because we want to show the kids how colorful the world is and to create understanding and curiosity of the different cultures. What if we all had less prejudice and more curiosity? Would the world be more colorful and less hierarchical? Would there be more empathy? Could we in the West try to learn from other cultures? ------- Chapters ▷ 00:00 - Intro ▷ 00:29 - Strong Boy - Kids on the Silk Road (Uzbekistan) ▷ 23:42 - Credits #documentary #fulldocumentary #uzbekistan #strongman #circus #traditions #silkroad ------- Subscribe to wocomoHUMANITY: https://goo.gl/5Sp36B Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wocomo ------- Original title: Strong Boy - Kids on the Silk Road (S2/E4) A film by Jens Pedersen, Kaspar Astrup Schröder, Simon Lereng Wilmont & Camilla Magid © 2020, Licensed by Autlook ------- Documentaries about people and cultures from around the globe: wocomoHUMANITY offers high-quality content which is produced by leading production companies.
