Video Description
- Turn on subtitles/CC's if you'd like explanations on what I'm doing throughout the video. - I've had a 460/C6 sitting in the corner of my garage for a few months now. It came from a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis featured in an older video of mine, One Last Ride. At the time, the engine had been sitting for a while and was almost seized, but it fired up and ran full throttle doing donuts in the middle of a field. Now, it's time to re-home that engine. It's replacing the 302 in my 1974 Gran Torino. While I may eventually hop up the 460 engine, it's going in mostly stock with the exception of a straight-up timing set, long tube headers, and a 750 Holley carburetor. This is the first time I've felt this engine perform on pavement and despite being a low compression, de-tuned big block, its performance has exceeded my expectations. Fighting to get traction, it runs 0-60mph 5 seconds quicker than with the 302. I'd like to add a limited slip 9 inch rear to this equation next, then maybe go back into the motor with an aluminum intake and a camshaft, maybe even some higher compression iron heads.
