📍Los Angeles, United States 🇺🇸 The USA was nothing like we thought it would be.. This is the start of our dream trip through America, beginning in California before driving deep into the South. But somewhere over Greenland’s frozen mountains and the sharp ridges of Yosemite, the cheap flight felt like a privilege. Our good friend Bret was waiting at LAX, grinning, the kind of welcome you only get from someone who loves where they live. He took us straight for our first In-N-Out experience, and it was everything we’d hoped for, huge and full of flavour. Then came Target, where the sheer scale of everything was absurd, shelves stacked high like they were made for a different species. We grabbed a few things for the 4th of July and headed to Bret’s home in San Pedro. It wasn’t what I expected. The air felt soft, the streets calm and no one blinked at a camera in hand. Cabrillo Beach was spotless, the free-to-use BBQ grills smoking with ribs and burgers, families sitting under umbrellas laughing in the sun. We ended the night with great pizza, more bourbon and fireworks cracking over the Pacific.
