While hiding the news from their destitute parents, the young siblings try to resolve the problem on their own by sharing the only pair of scruffy shoes Pinu has. Pinu even tries to buy a new pair for his sister by accepting a secret assignment which leads him into criminal territory. When it renders fruitless, he participates in an interschool marathon where one of the prizes is a new pair of sneakers. But shoes don't come easy for down and out kids growing up in the backwaters of terror-infested India.
