These pacu are some of the strangest and most unique fish we’ve ever owned, and seeing them explore their new home was unreal. But the real test came at feeding time to see if they eat just like piranhas. We loaded the picnic table with ghost shrimp, live minnows, fresh salmon, and finally… our own hands. Within seconds, the pacu were shredding steak and tearing salmon apart like true piranhas in a full-on feeding frenzy, leaving us seriously nervous about offering up our fingers. This was one of the craziest aquarium experiments we’ve ever filmed and it shows just how wild and powerful these monster fish really are.
