The Turin–Genoa railway line is a major Italian rail line, connecting the cities of Turin and Genoa. It is 169 km long. It was opened between 1848–1853. It is a standard gauge line. Electrification - 3000 V DC. The line was completed on 18 December 1853. In order to cross the Apennines the 3,259 meter-long Giovi Tunnel was built, which at the time was the longest in the world.
