In this video, I attempt to make mokume gane — a traditional Japanese metalworking technique that creates stunning woodgrain-like patterns by fusing layers of copper, brass, and nickel. Similar to Damascus steel, but with non-ferrous metals, this project involves cleaning, stacking, clamping, heating in a kiln, and attempting to forge the billet without delamination.
