It’s not even a year since ChatGPT came out with an overwhelming success, putting Microsoft on top of AI development. Naturally, Google couldn’t sit that one out and hastily put out Google Bard, to a mixed reaction for sure. ----------------------------------------------- ❓How are ChatBots trained? ----------------------------------------------- You’d be surprised, but comparing ChatGPT vs Bard, these AI chatbots are trained very differently. ChatGPT: Trained using an assortment of information from the net, totalling about 300 billion words. The dataset includes more than 570 GB of books, web texts, Wikipedia articles, and other pieces of written text from the internet. However, this original dataset only contains information collected before September of 2021. Until recently, ChatGPT had no way of using recent information to generate text. These days subscribers of the chatbot’s premium version get full access to plugins allowing ChatGPT to access the internet. Google Bard: Trained using Infiniset. This is Google’s proprietary dataset, containing a significant amount of text from public web spaces, Wikipedia, and more. According to the LaMDA research paper, this set contains data from public forums and social media as well, and a lot of it! Furthermore, Bard continues to draw information from the web even now, growing more knowledgeable every day. Anyways, both Chatbots are on even grounds right now - with full internet access and hundreds of gigabytes of analyzed data. ----------------------------------------------- ❓What’s the difference in generative capabilities? ----------------------------------------------- ChatGPT: When it comes to generating creative text, ChatGPT leaves Bard AI in the dust. Whether it’s short story format or poems, ChatGPT delivers inventive and high-quality results. It also does well with providing summaries of complex topics and answering questions in a comprehensive and informative manner. Most importantly, ChatGPT can generate code using a dozen programming languages including Python, Java, and JavaScript. It’s not as reliable as a real person, but who can tell how far the progress will go in future? Google Bard: Now, while ChatGPT already sounds like a jack of all trades, there’s one thing it doesn’t do well. Analyzing online articles and online research. Sure, with ChatGPT Plus, there are plugins that allow internet access, but Bard is better at that as of now. It’s enough to give Bard a link, and it will summarize the contents for you, it’s that easy. Bard can source images as well, something ChatGPT struggles with. By the way, remember how Bard was trained on social media and public forums? Well, even though those are not as good as academic sources, they definitely made Bard a more “human-like” companion. My Google Bard chat felt like a real conversation with a human far more often than with ChatGPT. ----------------------------------------------- 00:00 Intro 00:30 Which AI has better UI? 01:44 Information sources of ChatGPT and Bard 03:18 Which AI Chatbot is better at generating prompts? 04:51 What are AI Hallucinations? 06:45 AI Chatbot prices 07:08 Conclusion ----------------------------------------------- #chatgpt #bardAI #chatgptvsgoogle #ctz #cooltechzone Affiliate Disclaimer: We are affiliated but not sponsored by any service provider.
