Step back in time with me as I recreate three classic family dinners from my 1960’s Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook. These simple, comforting recipes are full of nostalgia — the kind of meals many of us grew up with. In this video, I’ll be making: 🍝 Lazy Lasagna — an easy make-ahead dinner perfect for busy nights 🍛 Creamy Curried Chicken — a retro favorite that feels special and comforting 🐟 Tuna Noodle Casserole — the ultimate cozy classic These dishes remind me of the meals my mom used to make, filling our home with warmth and love. I hope this video brings you a bit of that same comfort and maybe inspires you to bring back a few timeless recipes of your own. ✨ Recipes: LAZY LASAGNA •1 box oven ready lasagna noodles •2 jars bolognese sauce (meat sauce) •1 tall container cream style cottage cheese •1-2 bags shredded mozzarella •chopped parsley (optional) for topping Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spread a light layer of sauce on the bottom of a greased casserole dish. Add a layer of noodles, cottage cheese (half the container), mozzarella, sauce. Repeat. Top with a layer of noodles, sauce and cheese. Cover with foil. Bake for 50 minutes. Uncover, top woth parsley and another layer of cheese (optional) and broil for 5-10 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving. CREAMY CURRIED CHICKEN •2 tbsp butter •3 tsp curry powder •1 apple, peeled & diced •1 tsp salt •1/2 cup onion, diced •2 cups milk •1 garlic clove, minced •2 cups cubed •2 tbsp flour ~ cooked chicken In a pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add the apple, onion and garlic. Stir until softened. Add the flour, curry powder and salt. Stir for another 5 minutes in order to cook the flour. Add the milk, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens. Add the ckicken. Heat through. Serve over rice. Top with shredded coconut (or cilantro & lime). TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE •1 pkg medium egg noodles •1 tsp salt •1 can tuna •1 can cream of •1/2 cup mayonnaise ~ celery soup •1 cup sliced celery •1/2 can of milk •1/4 cup diced gr. pepper •1 cup grated •1/4 cup chopoed pimento ~ cheddar cheese • 1/2 cup toasted sliced almond (or more cheese and green onions for topping) Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain. Combine noidles, tuna, veggies & salt. In a pot, combine the soup and milk. Stir over medium-high heat until heated through and blended. Add cheese. Stir until melted. Add to noodle mixture. Stir well and turn into a greased casserole dish. Top with the toasted almonds. Bake for 20 minutes.
