Video Description

I got sick of seeing people being scammed by scammers selling fake cashmere and pashminas in India so I went and got scammed to show you how to avoid it and how you can buy real cashmere! Then watch the scammer lie through his teeth that what he's selling is 100% pure cashmere from Keralan monkeys - unbelievable. Cashmere or Kashmir is the most luxurious wool in the world. It's produced in the state of Jammu & Kashmir in India, hence the name. It comes from the neck region of cashmere goats who only shed once a year. It's known for being extremely thin yet warm. It's the most expensive type of wool in the world. But most small stores selling garments and handicrafts will sell you cheap silk or viscose at insane prices. They'll lie to you and tell you it's 100% pure cashmere or pashmina. There are a few ways you can tell real cashmere. Firstly it looks like animal hair and not perfectly produced strands of wool. It's super light and warm compared to the fake products. And it always has a matt finish, it's never shiny like silk. Sometimes it is mixed with silk, but the label will tell you that if it's a cashmere silk blend. At the end of the video, I go to confront the scammer and show you how to get a refund in India! It's no easy feat! They HATE giving refunds.
