One simple fake silver coin test you can do is to use a powerful rare earth magnet on the coins to see if them have iron or steel in them. Any magnetic silver should be ruled out as fake silver. Another easy fake silver test is to weigh the silver bars or silver coins to make sure they weigh correctly. We use a sigma metalytics precious metals verifier on the silver bars and they fail that test. We also do a silver scratch test and a silver acid test and the silver bars failed that as well. The best practice to avoid fake silver or counterfeit silver coins is to buy from a reputable dealer.
