Globally renowned for her groundbreaking work with chimpanzees, Jane Goodall, an icon of animal protection and a prominent environmental activist, delivered a powerful message of peace, respect, and hope at UNESCO on Saturday, October 19, 2024, following in the footsteps of figures like Nelson Mandela, Pope John Paul II, and Claude Lévi-Strauss. In 1977, she founded the Jane Goodall Institute, an international conservation organization. By working to protect chimpanzees, African wildlife, and forests, while promoting the preservation of our shared natural world, the Institute helps improve the quality of life for humans, animals, and the environment.
