En France, 2 600 prisonniers sont des prisonnières. Les femmes ne représentant que 3% de la population carcérale. Deux prisons leur sont spécialement réservées : le centre pénitentiaire de Rennes et la maison d’arrêt de Versailles. Mais la majorité des détenues purgent leur peine dans l’un des 59 “quartiers pour femmes”, dont celui de Réau en Seine-et-Marne dans lequel nous avons pu exceptionnellement poser nos caméras pendant plusieurs semaines.
