Today I'm taking a look at a product which might finally make my dreams of a server-room workstation a reality. These guys are HDMI over Fiber adapters, but unlike others on the market, they use detachable MPO (standard network fiber) connectors and standard 8-strand OM3 fiber. This fiber is not that expensive, the fiber itself can be replaced, pulled through walls ahead of time, has no directionality (unlike HDMI active optical cables), can run through fiber jacks and patch panels, and the list of advantages just goes on and on. But anyway, does this thing work? I test it and find out.
