In 2000 we visited the very young airline in Riga to fly the Avro RJ70 & Fokker 50 on 15 flights from Riga to Stockholm, Moscow, Helsinki, Tallinn, Frankfurt, Copenhagen and Kiev. This was the start of a long relationship with the airline that has grown into a major company operating one of the largest Airbus A220 fleets in the world with 50 aircraft and plans to double that to 100 by 2030! Over the years we’ve returned to Riga on a regular basis to cover the airlines Fokker 50, Boeing 737-300, 737-500 and the Bombardier CS300 as it was being renamed A220. The airline operated a fleet of 2 Boeing 757-200s for 5 years and we were lucky enough to film both, YL-BDB to Antalya & Hurghada and YL-BDC to Barcelona. Now 25 years later we’re back and tomorrow we will be releasing our newest Air Baltic program covering 3 routes including 2 for the first time. A short 25min flight to Palanga in Lithuania ; a medium 1h45min flight to Munich in Germany and a longer 3h15min flight to Rhodes in Greece.
