Loyal customers. - GM is far outperforming Ford right now… balancing production and incentives. GM knows how and when to cut losses. - 2.8m new vehicles in US right now… a 4-year high. - People are holding onto their used vehicles… they’re not upgrading every 3-5 years now. They’re fixing their older vehicles because it doesn’t make sense to buy new. - Ford (like many manufacturers) was a lead offender of selling higher trimmed options to boost profit margins per unit.
