I've been looking for ways to share a little bit more about me and my life and I've always wanted to get a little more creative so I've decided to try my hand at vlogging. I've been filming lots of snippets of my life over the past few years have been too afraid to start uploading them until now! Anyway, I've decided 20-20-THRIVE is going to be my year. Not long after I turned 50 I found myself divorced and a single mother to two teenage boys. Throw into the mix having to single-handedly sell our family home, buy a new place for my boys and I to live in, navigate divorce while remodelling my new house to try and turn it into a family home. I also dipped my toe into dating after more than 20 years and met a great guy who's health issues resulted in him having a liver transplant 18 months ago. My youngest son also moved to the US when he was only 16 on a basketball scholarship so I've had four trips to the US in the last two years to relocate him to different schools and to help him navigate a whole new life all on his own. So it's safe to say the past few years have been a LOT and I've realised I've spent more time simply surviving and now I want to start thriving. Life is short and the past 18 months have been testament to that so I want to make this next chapter of my life count. That's why I've decided to start this vlog. Firstly, to keep myself accountable, learn a new skill, document some of my learnings and share them with anyone who is keen to listen. So with all that said I do hope you enjoy this first vlog, it's really just my way of saying that I'm going to start vlogging a little and I'm excited to be covering off so many topics that women over 40 and 50 all seem to face. Hopefully, we can share some of our similar experiences in the comments and not feel quite as alone. Anyway, I have some fun vlog topics coming up including navigating menopause, dating later and life and so much more.
