In my workflow, NotebookLM becomes the memory layer, and Gemini becomes the chat interface that pulls from that memory. Here’s the exact process. Step 1: Summarize inside NotebookLM (then convert it into a Source) Instead of asking Gemini to remember everything, I start in NotebookLM. I paste in the conversation (or the relevant text), then I tell NotebookLM to summarize what was learned—specifically the parts that matter going forward (preferences, decisions, key details, etc.). Once NotebookLM generates the summary, I save it, click the three dots, and choose Convert to source. That turns the summary into a permanent reference asset inside the notebook—something NotebookLM can treat as trustworthy source material. Step 2: Upload that notebook into Gemini Now I take that NotebookLM output and bring it into Gemini by uploading it.
