Will Donald Trump buy or even invade Greenland? It's a bizarre question to be asking, but in late February, the newly inaugurated President Trump stunned the Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen with a phone call demanding she hands over the world's largest island which is also Danish territory. Later he threatened tariffs on Danish imports if she doesn't comply and repeated a threat to invade. Denmark's position is that Greenland is not for sale and its future rests in the hands of 57 thousand Greenlanders. The Greenlandic Prime Minister says they are heading towards independence – from every other state. Now, Europe's leaders are gathering in a special summit to stop Trump. But why has this crazy-sounding US takeover bid happened? And will Greenlanders cave in to the lure of big bucks?
