In der Archiven deutscher Fernsehanstalten schlummern große Mengen an produziertem Fernsehprogramm. Vieles davon lagert seit Jahrzehnten ungesehen in den Regalen. Einen Teil dieser Archivschätze wieder verfügbar zu machen - das ist die Aufgabe dieses neuen YouTube-Kanals "Deutsche Fernsehgeschichte". In Zusammenarbeit mit Fernsehsendern und TV-Produzenten werden wir versuchen, sukzessive alte Sendungen zu digitalisieren, dokumentieren und hier auf YouTube zu veröffentlichen. Denn nicht selten enthalten die oft mehrere Jahrzehnte alten Inhalte sogar Informationen, die noch heute nützlich sein können. Mindestens jedoch eröffnen sie einen Blick auf unsere jüngere Geschichte, auf die Art und Weise, wie früher berichtet wurde, wie sich unsere Gesellschaft seitdem entwickelt hat oder bringen uns mit Skurrilem und "aus der Zeit Gefallenem" zum Lachen.
