Is upgrading your Apple Watch even necessary anymore?

After watching Apple's live event in September, I (obviously) noticed all of the new iPhones, but since I was upgrading to the iPhone 17, I also wondered if it was a good time to upgrade my Apple Watch SE Generation 1 to one of the newer watches that were also announced (SE 3, Series 11, Ultra 3). Short answer: Nah no way lol But that opened up a bigger idea of who is upgrading an Apple watch even for, and is it even necessary in the big 2025?
