Has it lived up to the hype in La Paz? Honestly we're not sure as of right now. To find out as much info on the city as we could, and to get around to all the best spots, we booked a walking tour which was insanely cheap! It also meant we could go up the cable car without needing to work out stops, navigating Spanish or needing to plan too much. From the Witches Markets to El Alto, around every turn was something shocking, interesting, and fascinating. For everything beautiful we got to see, there was something broken (figuratively and literally) — we kind of feel like this is the most contrasted we've ever felt about a city.
