The Islamic State forcefully relocated thousands of civilians to the war zone. This way, they could slow down the Iraqi forces advance while increasing the civilian death toll. Czech documentarian Jana Andert spent a total of eight months between 2014 and June 2017 in Iraq. She lived with an elite Army unit called the "Golden Division" at the front lines of the battle of Mosul, a city occupied by ISIS fighters.
