G'day everyone, I have some big wood working project coming up soon. I don't know if I will show them in the channel, but either way, I need some tools. Mainly a jack plane so smoothing down long cuts of wood. I appreciate that jack planes are a common wood working tool, but at over $300 for a good one, it is far too expensive for me to invest in one, especially when it may only be used a few times a year. So I decided to make one. I already made a small plane last year, which I use for chamfering, but this plane will be different. Larger, heavier and most importantly, it will have an adjustable throat which will allow me to hopefully reduce tear out.
