After choosing a Bronze HMO with an HSA for 2026, my cardiologist referred me to a new specialist at a different hospital system that focuses on advanced heart failure care. While I’m not at that stage, the referral was proactive—and it uncovered a major ACA issue. We learned that no Healthcare.gov HMO plans were accepted at this facility. Only PPO ACA plans provided access. With the December 15 ACA enrollment deadline approaching, we had to make a fast decision with limited information.
